Seeking a Queen for May Procession
Our May Procession will take place on Thursday, May 21 at 7 PM. As a Parish, we will gather for this unique act of praise in honor of Our Blessed Mother, with school-age children joining together in a procession. The children who receive their First Holy Communion this year will play a significant role. Practice for singing and the procession will be May 3 and May 17 in the school cafeteria after the 9:30 A.M. Mass. Any 8th grade girl (St. Joseph the Protector, PREP, private academy or home school) who would like to be considered as May Queen should submit her name to Marie McGuigan at 215-884-4022 or
mmcguigan250@gmail.com by May 15.
PARISH MINISTRIES
  Building and Grounds
  Committee Could Use
  Some Helping Hands

As a follow-up to the excellent Ministries event on April 12, we will be highlighting the many ways parishioners can volunteeer their time and talent and, in turn, enrich their spiritual lives. The first in this series is the Building and Grounds Committee.

In preparation for Immaculate Conception's year-long Sesquicentennial celebration beginning in October, Building and Grounds will be involved in a number of upgrading projects this year including -- repaving the parking lot and painting the interior of the church --
that will be competively bid.

For smaller projects, the committee is looking for parishioners to donate their time and talent; all materials will be provided. These projects include repainting the steps to the side doors, window replacement, light fixture replacement and caulking. With enough volunteersm most of these projects can be completed in under four hours on a Saturday. These tasks do not require someone who is a skilled carpenter. If you can help, please contact Vincent McCafferty at Svpcafferty@msn.com or 267-246-0740.

Meals & Soup Are Needed; Help Fill Freezer
The Aid For Friends (AFF) program led by the Corporal Works of Mercy Committee is low on meals stored in the rectory freezer. There is also a great need for soup. Supplies are kept in the freezer room. AFF usually gets low on meals in the summer months, so it would be very much appreciated if parishioners help build up stock by making extra meals.

Family Is
"the Light of
the World"

“The family which experiences the joy of faith communicates it naturally. That family is the salt of the earth and the light of the world; it is the leaven of society.”
-- Pope Francis
