Oct. 1: Baptism Preparation
The next Baptism preparation class is Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 7 PM. These sessions are held the first Wednesday of each month. Parents are asked to attend this important preparation meeting prior to the Baptism of their children. If you have any questions contact Marie McGuigan in the Rectory.

 
Oct. 4: Altar Server Training
Sstudents 5th or 6th grade interested in serving at the altar, please come to the Church Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9:30 AM for training. If you’ve already gone through one session, you are welcome back for a refresher. You will be put on the schedule in November
.
Oct. 5: Mass Then Mingle at Social Sunday
Please plan to visit Conahan Hall after all the morning Masses on Sunday, Oct. 5 for the next Social Sunday. You can socialize with fellow parishioners and enjoy a few treats!

 
Oct. 5: Abington Life Chain
Please join fellow parishioners at the Abington Life Chain on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 2 to 3 PM. The meeting place is the intersection of Old York Road and Horace (1:45 PM). During this peaceful, silent, prayerful event, clergy and church members will line the sidewalks on both sides of Old York Road in Abington holding pro-life signs.
Oct. 7: Men's Evening of Reflection
Father Daniel Hennessey, L.C., will be the speaker at the Men's Evening of Reflection program in Conahan Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Supper is at 6:30 PM, with reflection at 7 and Mass at 8. For more information, contact Patrick Stanton at 215-885-2531.

Adult Faith Formation

The Inquiry Period is open for prospective catechumens, baptized Christians and baptized, uncatechized Catholics to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) / Adult Faith Formation Program at Immaculate Conception. We welcome referrals from parishioners who know someone who may be interested in RCIA. If you have an interest or know someone who is, please contact Marie McGuigan at 215-884-4022 or mmcguigan250@gmail.com.
Meals Needed for Aid for Friends, Hospice
Meals are needed for Aid for Friends as well as St. John's Hospice. Mrs. Margaret Curran, the chair of the Corporal Works of Mercy Committee, is coordinating this effort with Marie McGuigan. If you can make a meal or meals or can assist in delivering the St. John's Hospice Casseroles on the third Monday of the month at 8:30 AM please call Marie at the rectory or reach her by email at mmcguigan250@gmail.com

Breathing Room's Road Run
Scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 5

The Breathing Room Foundation's 11th annual Valley Road Run is Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Thomas J. Paul Building, 1061 Rydal Road, Jenkintown. There will be a 5-kilometer run and a 2-mile walk starting at 8:30 AM. Registration: www.breathingroomfoundation.org.


Breathing Room's mission is to provide care and support to local families affected by cancer.

Need a Ride to Church or Appointment?
H.O.P.E.: If you or someone you know needs a ride to Church, appointments, etc., our Helping Other People in Emergencies (H.O.P.E.) drivers are ready and willing to help. The week of Sept. 21, call Luci Harp at 215-884-3805. Pray the Rosary Before Mass Mon.-Sat.
The Rosary is prayed before the 8 AM daily Mass in St. Mary's Chapel Monday-Saturday starting at 7:40. Morning Prayer takes place after each daily Mass.
Stucco Restoration Project Blog
The Immaculate Conception BVM Stucco Restoration Project blog debuted in June 2013 to enable parishioners and friends in the community to track the project's progress. In addition to enhancing the beauty of the church with fresh surfaces on the cement walls, the project included new gutters and downspouts as well as roof repairs.
