Joint Letter To Congress: Support The Conscience Protection Act Of 2016
The link above contains important information from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) about a major development that could positively impact the pro-life movement in our country.  The USCCB joined twenty-five other major pro-life, religious, and health care organizations in urging the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the Conscience Protection Act of 2016 (H.R. 4828). Signatories include ten medical groups representing tens of thousands of health care professionals who object to abortion and are seeking legal protections that allow them to serve patients without violating their conscience.
Photo Book - Your Photos are needed
As part of our celebration of the sesquicentennial of the parish, we are hoping to assemble a book consisting of favorite family photos that have something to do with our church and a small paragraph describing why the picture is so treasured.  If you just have a story and no picture that could be submitted too but a picture is of course more interesting.  The following is an example from another parish of the kind of thing we are looking for.  Pictures must be very good copies, no originals.  We can’t guarantee that they will be returned.  If you can’t make a copy we could arrange to scan the picture.  Please submit the copy of the picture and the narrative to the Rectory.

c. 1947  “The diamond had fallen out of my mother’s wedding ring some place between Communion and the parking lot (the ring was 57 years old). While looking for it, she said a prayer to St. Anthony and on her way out of church she spotted what looked like a pebble on the edge of the walkway in front of the rectory. When she turned it over it sparkled in the bright morning light!”
