Refinishing Church Floors Is Underway:
Can You Help Move Pews This Weekend?

 

The refinishing of the wood floors of the Church is underway. We need volunteers to assist on the following dates:
  • Saturday, July 26 to reinstall the pews on the left side of the Church
  • Sunday July, 27 after the 5 PM Mass to remove pews on the right side of the Church 
  • Saturday, August 2 to reinstall the pews on the right side of the Church
Planned Parenthood Prayer Vigil Aug. 11
From the Respect Life Committee: In conjunction with other parishes in the northern suburbs, Immaculate Conception BVM Church participates in daily prayer vigils at Planned Parenthood, 610 Louis Drive, Warminster. The next witness at the Warminster abortion center is Monday, Aug. 11 from 9 AM to 5 PM and thereafter on the second Monday of each month. We encourage everyone to join us to pray and give witness for the crime of abortion in our community and our nation. For your scheduled hour of prayer and further information call 215-884-2922.

 
 

Grade 5 Catechist Position Is Available 

Thank you to the many people who volunteered to be catechists in the Parish Religious Education Program (PREP). One 2014-'15 position is still available for grade 5, which is expected to be a class of 11 children. Immaculate Conception catechists are young adults; high school juniors and seniors; retirees; faith-filled; in love with Christ’s message -- parishioners like you. Please consider offering your time and the gift of your Catholic faith to the program. PREP Registration Deadline Extended
Registration for the 2014-'15 Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) has been extended to August 1, Marie McGuigan, Director of Faith Formation, said. PREP begins for children entering kindergarten or first grade. If you are planning to have your child celebrate First Holy Communion in the second grade, he/she needs to be be registered for PREP in Grade 1. Registration forms can be accessed via the links below. If you have questions, contact Marie at 215-884-4022.

Adult Faith Formation

The Inquiry Period is open for prospective catechumens, baptized Christians and baptized, uncatechized Catholics to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) / Adult Faith Formation Program at Immaculate Conception. We welcome referrals from parishioners who know someone who may be interested in RCIA. If you have an interest or know someone who is, please contact Marie McGuigan at 215-884-4022 or mmcguigan250@gmail.com.

Pre-K Programs for 2, 3 & 4-Year-Olds
Saint Joseph the Protector’s Jenkintown campus Pre-Kindergarten Program for 3- and 4-year-olds has added classes for 2-year-olds for the 2014-'15. The new 2-year-old program is five days a week, with half-day and full-day options. In addition to serving the siblings of children enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade at Saint Joseph the Protector School’s Glenside campus, the Pre-Kindergarten program welcomes children of all faiths and families who live and work in the area. Enrollment is underway for 2014-‘15.   • H.O.P.E.: If you or someone you know needs a ride to Church, appointments, etc., our Helping Other People in Emergencies (H.O.P.E.) drivers are ready and willing to help. The week of July 20, please call Jenny Barnett at 215-885-8650. The week of July 27, please call Luci Harp at 215-884-3805.
     
  • The Rosary is prayed before the 8 AM daily Mass in St. Mary's Chapel Monday-Saturday starting at 7:40. Morning Prayer takes place after each daily Mass.
STUCCO RESTORATION BLOG
A number of "punch list" or "to do" tasks remain before the parish's Stucco Restoration Project is declared officially finished, but the exterior walls are looking very, very nice now that all the scaffolding has been removed.
