Here's How
to Volunteer
In September, Philadelphia will welcome Pope Francis and visitors from around the globe for the first World Meeting of Families held in the United States. Registration is now open to serve as a volunteer in one of two categories: “General Volunteers” and “Deacons, Men & Women Religious.”

There is a two-step registration process that includes an online form and a background check. After these steps, registrants will be notified regarding eligibility. When the background check is passed, individuals are connected with the Volunteer Hub where days and time slots are requested.

Volunteer via the World Meeting of Families website (link below) by clicking on the "Be a Volunteer" link on the top bar menu.

Seeking a Queen for the May Procession
The parish May Procession, when we gather to honor of Our Blessed Mother, is Thursday, May 21 at 7 PM. Our school children, including those who are receiving their First Holy Communion this year, will play a significant role  -- with practice for singing and the procession taking place May 3 and May 17 in the school cafeteria after the 9:30 A.M. Mass. Also, any 8th grade girl (St. Joseph the Protector, PREP, private academy or home school) who would like to be considered as May Queen should submit her name to Marie McGuigan at 215-884-4022 or mmcguigan@gmail.com
by May 15.
An Invitation for Anyone Desiring to Become a Catholic
The Inquiry Period is now open for anyone with a desire to become a Catholic. We welcome the unbaptized, those baptized in another Christian faith, or baptized Catholics who have not completed the Sacraments of Initiation or who have been away from the faith for some time. We are also seeking parishioners who are interested in being part of the Adult Faith Formation Team. Contact Marie McGuigan at mmcguigan@gmail.com or 215-884-4022.

This is the second in a series about parish ministries: Communications.

The committee's major focus is two-fold: improving communications in all aspects of parish life in the spirit of openness and positioning Immaculate Conception as a welcoming member of the community.

Key tasks include playing a leading role in updating and improving the parish web site; producing the parish annual report and other publications; creating special online projects such as the Stucco Restoration Blog, and serving as an expert communications resource as needed.

If you have an interest in finding out more about the committee, would like to join it or have communication suggestions, contact Nick Nagurny at nickwilco@gmail.com or 215-947-1677

 About Immaculate Conception...
The Sacrament of Baptisim is administered on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month; arrangements need to be made in advance at the rectory. New parents are required to attend Baptism preparation class (held 1st Wednesday of the month) and expectant parents are most welcome at these classes.
Arrangements for weddings must be made at the rectory at least six months before the date selected.
New Parishioners
To register at our parish, please visit the rectory office any weekday between 9 AM and 4 PM.
Weekly Email Messages
Send a note to iccbulletin604@gmail.com if you wish to receive weekly email updates from the parish.
When There Is Serious Illness
Please call the rectory if there is an illness emergency in your family -- but please do not wait until the person you are calling about is unconscious or in imminent danger of dying. Parishioners will be placed on the Communion Call List upon request. Notify the rectory when there is serious sickness in your family or when someone in your family is admitted to the hospital.
