Pope Francis has called for a global meeting (a synod) of bishops to be held in Rome in October of 2023. In preparation for that event, he has asked the worldwide church to participate. The Archdiocese has been holding regional sessions over the past two months, and now we have scheduled two local sessions in Conahan Hall to give our parishioners a chance to participate in this endeavor. This is not a town meeting or a gripe session, but a prayerful reflection on our experience as Church -- the body of Christ. What are our Joys and what are our Concerns? Does the Church listen to me? Is the Church a true companion with me on my faith journey? Our purpose is to gather feedback, organize the feedback into themes, and send our work to the Archdiocese. The Archdiocese will then go through the same process with the feedback they receive from all the parishes and send that information to Rome.
Our two dates are Thursday, May 19 at 7:00PM and Saturday, May 21 at 9:00AM. You should choose one of the sessions. Each session will last about 2 hours. Light refreshments will be served.
