SACRAMENTS

There are seven Sacraments of the Church which touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life:  they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian's life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life.

Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation

Sacraments of Healing: Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick

Sacraments of Service: Holy Orders and Matrimony

Baptism

Baptisms take place on the second and fourth Sunday of the month after the 11:30 Mass. Godparents need to submit a current letter of eligibility from their parish, stating that they are practicing Catholics in good standing.

New parents and their child(ren) are invited to a Baptism Supper held at the rectory on the second Thursday of the month.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is held each Saturday at 3:00 PM.

During the seasons of Advent and Lent, there is a night of confessions with many priests.

Students in the PREP program receive this sacrament in second grade.

Holy Communion

Children enrolled in our PREP program receive First Holy Communion in second grade.

A priest or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion can bring the Eucharist to those who are homebound. Call the office at 215-887-1501 to arrange a communion call.

Interested in becoming a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion?

Confirmation

Children enrolled in our PREP program receive this sacrament in the seventh grade.  The Confirmation Sponsor must provide a letter of eligibility from their parish stating that he/she is practicing Catholics.

Adults who have not  received Confirmation and wish to enter into full communion with the church can contact the office to arrange instruction in the faith.

Holy Orders

Interested in serving the Church as a Permanent Deacon? Are you considering

vocation to the priesthood?

Matrimony

Weddings are scheduled on Fridays and Saturday. Arrangements for wedding should be made ten to twelve months in advance. Please note, one party must be Catholic and both parites must be free to marry.

Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick can be administered in different situations. For example, if there is an upcoming surgery. Do not wait until death is imminent. Call the church office to arrange an anointing, and notify the parish if a loved one is in the hospital.

An anointing of the Sick Mass is held yearly.

Have you been away from the Church and want to come back?

Are you a non-Catholic who wants to join the Church?

Father Al Masluk works with people who with to enter in full communion with the church or want to become Catholic. Contact the church office at churchoffice@iccjenkintown.org or at 215-887-1501 for more information.
